The FAR Child Protection Center is not only a haven for vulnerable and at-risk children, it’s also a home — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The center primarily safeguards children who have become victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect. It also houses those who face homelessness or extreme poverty.

There is no other center like CPC in Armenia, and for that reason, the government frequently refers children to this special place. Since it opened in 2000, CPC has helped more than 11,000 children and youth.

Many young people call the center home. Children leave during the day for school, but come back to CPC to sleep. Currently, many of the center’s bedrooms are in need of renovation. The windows are drafty in winter and some walls are also in need of repair.
