Project Goal
To improve access to high-quality therapeutic services for children with disabilities by renovating essential therapy spaces at the Center for Children with Learning Disabilities in Yerevan.
Project Background
A long-term partner of Fund for Armenian Relief, the Center for Children with Learning Disabilities is a national institution supporting children ages 3–18 who require special educational conditions. It serves as both a direct service provider for complex cases and the methodological hub for 24 regional branches across Armenia.
Each year, approximately 100 children receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary assessments followed by individualized intervention plans that include speech, psychological, occupational, and sensory therapies. The Center has also developed innovative and inclusive approaches such as art, clay, drama, and music-based therapies that strengthen communication, emotional expression, and confidence while engaging families and peers.
However, several therapy rooms are in poor physical condition and are not suitable for effective therapeutic work. Music therapy cannot begin due to the lack of an appropriate space, despite having both a specialist and instruments in place. This project will renovate four therapy rooms—art, clay, music, and assistive technologies—to ensure safe, functional, and welcoming environments for children with disabilities.
