Project Goal

To equip young musicians at Dilijan State Art College with the instruments they need to learn, create, and perform.

Project Background

Nestled in the forests of northern Armenia, Dilijan has long been a center of artistic and cultural life in the Tavush region. At the heart of that tradition is the Dilijan State Art College, a regional hub for music education that has been nurturing young talent for generations.

Founded as a music school in 1945 and elevated to college status in 1997, the institution provides music education to children and young people from Dilijan and surrounding communities. Today, approximately 250 students study at the college, developing their skills in instrumental and vocal performance under the guidance of dedicated teachers.

FAR has been a longtime partner in the college's development. In recent years, FAR supporters helped transform its aging facilities into a modern, inspiring learning environment, including a renovated concert hall, and provided dozens of instruments—from pianos and violins to clarinets, flutes, trumpets, drums, duduks, and pipes. These investments have helped give talented young musicians the space and tools to learn, perform, and pursue their dreams.

But instruments don't last forever, and the needs of a growing music program continue to evolve. Many of the college's instruments are now in need of replacement or upgrading, while students need access to a wider range of quality instruments for lessons, ensembles, rehearsals, and performances.

Help keep the music playing in Tavush!
