Project Goal
The goal of the program is to equip primary healthcare centers (PHCs) in the border communities of Khndzoresk and Hartashen of Armenia’s Syunik region, with medical equipment and furniture. This will improve access to primary healthcare services and enhance residents’ health and quality of life.
Project Background
Khndzoresk and Hartashen are strategically important communities in Syunik due to their location. Supporting the over 2,000 residents to thrive in these communities is vital, and reliable healthcare services contributes to this goal.
Currently the Khndzoresk and Hartashen clinics lack updated and functioning medical supplies and equipment, severely limiting delivery of healthcare services. Meanwhile, regular checkups and early diagnostics are essential for preventing and managing health issues.
Providing modern medical equipment and updated furnishings will greatly enhance the functionality of the clinics, making healthcare delivery more efficient and accessible. Residents will be able to receive care locally, avoiding trips to larger communities, which is especially important as harsh weather often makes roads nearly impassable. Improved access to regular care will raise awareness, support early diagnosis and improve chronic illnesses management, and reduce untreated cases and preventable deaths within the communities.
